The IWVCA offers Student Education Programs that are presented free of charge to the attending students.
These Student Education Programs are in addition to the evening programs. There will be at least 7 or 8 Student Education Outreach Programs in the 2011-12 season, six presented at 10:00 am on the morning of the day of the evening concert, and one or two additional programs presented afterward, same date, details TBD. POPULAR AND CLASSICAL MUSIC FROM BRAZIL AND BEYOND! Four master players on two guitars, percussion, and flute bring sizzling energy to Brazilian sambas and jazz, Argentinean tangos, American ragtime, and arrangements of favorite classics. HUTCHINS CONSORT, Octet of the New Violin Family
The HUTCHINS CONSORT performs on eight perfectly scaled violins - from a tiny treble (an octave higher than a standard violin) to a gigantic contrabass (8 feet tall, tuned an octave below a cello). These were all designed and built by the famed luthier Dr. Carleen Hutchins. These instruments are the first successful attempt to create an acoustically balanced set of instruments that convey a homogeneous violin sound across the entire range of written music. Whether the Consort is playing the classics with consummate artistry, or presenting pieces on the cutting edge of new, their music is brilliantly alive, palpable, and powerful. WOODS TEA COMPANY, New England's Finest Folk Ensemble
WOODS TEA COMPANY is an acoustic group that performs Celtic tunes, sea shanties, American sea shanties, American folk and novelty songs with ease and skill. All three members, performing on up to twelve instruments, are also fine vocalists and audiences often leave in awe of their wonderful harmonies. Visit http://www.woodstea.net/theband.html. GOLDEN GATES & MOSCOW NIGHTS, Russian Folkloric
The three dazzling musicians of MOSCOW NIGHTS (Russian-born but now based in the U.S.) join with the twelve dancers of GOLDEN GATES (coming direct from St. Petersburg, Russia), on this U.S. tour. A program includes songs, rituals, folk stories, audience participation, and dances. The dancers feature skillful virtuosity, colorful costumes, syncopation of footwork, and gymnastic leaping of foot-stomping ferocity. The result is a FABULOUS RUSSIAN FOLKLORIC SHOW!!! PAUL POSNAK's boundary-crossing performances have delighted audiences on four continents. Dr. Posnak celebrates Chopin, brings to life the legendary jazz pianist-composers of the 1920's and '30's, and takes audiences on a tour of the joys of piano from virtuoso showpieces by a variety of composers. AJ & JON: Simon & Garfunkel Retrospective
AJ SWEARINGEN and JOHNATHAN BEEDLE have been performing a remarkable tribute to the music of ""Simon & Garfunkel" for more than a decade, and their sold-out shows prove that the effect on their audiences is undeniable! From Mrs. Robinson and Strawberry Fields, to Sounds of Silence and Scarborough Fair, this 25-song show moves quickly through both the biggest hits to some of lesser-known songs of this once-in-a-lifetime duo! The 2011-12 65th Season of the IWVCA will run from October 2011 through March 2012. All Concerts are scheduled to start at 7:30 PM. in the Burroughs Parker Performing Arts Center Auditorium at Burroughs High School, 500 French Street here in Ridgecrest, CA. Doors open at 7:00 PM. Please leave home early enough to park and still get into the theater well before 7:30 PM. To accommodate patrons who still need to purchase Single-Event Concert tickets or have other questions or problems, the Box Office will open at 6:30 PM.

Concerts are subject to change of location, date, or artist if circumstances should dictate. In such case, subscribers will be notified by e-mail, notice on the Concert Line (760-375-5600), mailed Notice (if there is sufficient time), Notices posted on this web site, or notices in the media.
