WACOM Donation May 2011

On Tuesday, 10 May 2011, the WACOM will present a $400.00 Donation to the IWVCA. Their generosity and support of the IWVCA is greatly appreciated.

Their donation will contribute to the ability of the IWVCA to continue to provide fine performing artists to the residents of Ridgecrest, the China Lake Naval Base, and the Indian Wells Valley and surrounding communities.

The WACOM's Thrift Shop has been in existence since 1 May 1953, and gives the residents of the China Lake Naval Base and Ridgecrest the opportunity to purchase donated clothing and household items at a minor cost. Donations are primarily received at the Thrift Shop, where collection bins have been provided for your convenience. All items sold at the Thrift Shop are donated by the community. The Thrift Shop is operated completely by WACOM volunteers so that all proceeds can be returned to charitable organizations and the Navy Relief Service.

The WACOM Organization meets every second Tuesday, September through May, at the Paradise Cafe on Blandy Street on the China Lake Naval Base. Each meeting is generally started with a social hour followed by a luncheon and program. Non-members must be accompanied by a member, and generally may attend only one meeting during the year. Members must reserve their seating for each meeting.

The IWVCA is proud to be selected as a recipient of this $400.00 Donation from the WACOM, and hopes to be remembered by the WACOM in future donations distributions.
